Clio Barnard is a British director. She is a director and an executive producer on the Apple TV+ period drama, The Essex Serpent.
Biography[]
Barnard achieved critical acclaim and several awards for her directorial debut, The Arbor, an experimental documentary about playwright Andrea Dunbar. In 2013, she directed The Selfish Giant, which premiered in the Director's Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival. For this, she was hailed as a significant new voice in British cinema. Some of her other credits include Lambeth Marsh, Random Acts of Intimacy, Flood, Dark River, and Ali & Ava.
